This medal was made to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the artillery workshops in Delft, Netherlands. The Minister of War to issue a commemorative medal in memory of this feast. A gold copy was made for the King, a silver copy for the Crown Prince of Orange, for Prince Frederik, the city of Delft and to the former and current Chief officers of the institutions. The current officers, the workmen and the councilors of the city each received a copy in bronze.
