SOUVENIR DE PARTICIPATION AU CONGRÈS

The edge of the medal is stamped with a bee and the word 'CUIVRE'.

The congress, originally scheduled for the spring of 1875, had to be delayed because the original venue was too small to hold all of the participants. The congress ran from 1-11 August 1875 and was held in the Tuileries.
